It was time to spoil Luke on Saturday 17th August, as he took his first step into his thirties. I decided that you should never forget your thirtieth birthday so I had to have something great up my sleeve. I have been planning this day for months and I was super nervous that he wouldn’t agree to his first surprise of the day; a helicopter lesson.
Photo: Helicopter R22, a two seater that Luke would soon be flying! I videotaped from the ground and there was also a helicopter filming the whole thing from the inside of the helicopter (as you cans see in the photo below.
The second part of the day Luke got to play with his presents; he got an old fashion looking radio with Bluetooth and a Samsung Tab 3 from me and my parents.
Then it was time to drop Wallace off with the in-laws. I told Luke they were babysitting so we don’t have to pick him up before getting home tonight. He got a basket with stuff (wine, chocolates, scratcies etc) from them and we had muffins and tea before we left to the city.
I had booked a nice executive hotel room with an incredible view (level 36 was high enough for me), and Luke was pretty surprised as he thought we were hanging at a mates house for the afternoon. Instead we hung out with them at the hotel (they were staying there too), before we left to the Bavarian Bier Cafe for his birthday dinner.
I had organised for a friend of mine to bake a Peter Griffin Cake (from Family Guy, Luke’s favourite TV show). He got some more presents and we had heaps of fun for the nest of the night.
Success!

I fell in love with an Australian, moved there from Norway in 2011. We got married, bought a house and a dog. Now we travel the world together, one country at the time.

So we have been having some mini projects on as we are saving to fix our retaining wall and fence. The first thing we have done (Luke has done) is to install door handles! We can finally close the doors, and even lock the master bedroom and bathroom.
The second thing is fixing up some chairs we got from friends of ours. 3 of them were broken, and the seat cover of the ok once needed to be replaced. It is hard to see in the pictures but the below chair in beige were changed to the blue one. Looks great in real life, not so much on the photos :P
Third project we have done was removing the sheets and blankets that we used to cover the windows and install blinds. They are dark grey and although they need to be ironed I reckon it looks good.
Now I can't wait to replace the horrible front door (just after we have fixed the fence, should be before Xmas :)
Write Soon Xx
