Wedding Anniversary

Yesterday it was 1 year since our wedding at Mount Tambourine. That day was of course the happiest day of my life, and I am still amazed and extremely greatful of how many were able to come from the other side of the world!

We celebrated the day with flowers for me and a footy shirt for him, lovely dinner and candles. Eas a great night and the celebration doesn't stop there. We are going to a nice spa hotel for 1 night soon and we will bring the top tier of our wedding cake! Cannot wait to be able to taste it after 1 year in the freezer. Not to mention the space it will free up in there too! :)

Thanks to all eho remembered the day snd writing a message on facebook, love you all.

Learning Norwegian

Hi,

I just want to say that I am very proud og Luke this week. He attended his first Norwegian lesson at the University of Queensland! Luke has always shown an interest in my culture and language, which I think he showed when he moved to Norway for 5 months (the first year of our relationship).
After his first Norwegian lesson he has spent a few minutes a day going through what he learned and worked on his pronunciation. It's great he has the opportunity to be tought Norwegian in the order he should, with a helping teacher and I will help ahytime he wants:) I imagine soon he wilk understand what I am talking about on skype and phone ... No more secrets!

Creative decoration

Hi,

Luke and I are currently trying to save up money to renovate the Kitchen before Christmas,  so we can not have too many small projects on the house as it all costs money. This weeks tiny improvement is my creative change of use for our side table decorations.  What do you think?

A day at a Museum

Hi,

There's always something to do in Brisbane, that's one of the things I love about living here.

Last weekend, Luke and I decided to go to a museum as we had seen a few adds about it (advertising totally works on us). It was very interesting, have a look at a few of the photos I took on the day. I love the first photo as the art symbolises a peaceful world-  where all animals are drinking of the same pond in harmony. Please note the animals are not real, someone has actually made these look real!

How cute are the pandas! It looks like they are caught drinking water :)

The second part has about 99 wolfs jumping into a glass wall, only to try again.

Around the World Trip!

I am very excited as we have finally booked our next trip to Norway! I am coming home for 2 weeks this year! Due to privacy settings on this blog I do not want to publish the dates/weeks, but it’s not too long until we will be visiting my much missed friends and family in Norway!

Luke and I love to travel and after looking at flights we decided to book an “around the world” ticket, as it is only a few hundred dollars more than a return to Norway. When planning the around the world tickets we invited Luke’s brothers Dan and Adam to join us. Just a few days ago Dan, Luke and I bought the tickets and our trip will be as follow:

Brisbane à Hong Kong (3 night stay)
Hong Kong à Oslo (1 week stay in Oslo/Halden, then 5 days in Denmark at the Roskilde festival, then 1 week in Vennesla)
Osloà New York (A few days in Manhattan/Time Square, then train to Niagara Falls, then a few nights in Toronto, then a few nights back in New York)
New York à Brisbane

Now that the flights are booked, we can start planning in detail and I cannot wait!

Counting down the days to our big trip of the year! YaaY

2 year wedding anniversary

On the 3rd March 2012 Luke and I were busy looking for a wedding venue, we had set a date for the big date and the friends and family had been given a heads up, they had 1 year to save up for a trip down under.

The 3rd March 2012 Luke and I also had a secret wedding with 2 of our closest friends as witnesses, making this our “secret wedding anniversary”. We have officially been married 2 years, the best 2 years of my life.

We have decided to celebrate on the 28th March though, as this is the date our marriage was registered in Norway. It’s the date so many of my family and friends made the trip to the other side of the world to celebrate the big day. It’s the date we exchanged wedding rings, it’s the date we have engraved in the wedding rings and it’s the date I signed the form to make Luke’s last name mine.

Although we will celebrate on the 28th, it was nice to recognize the 3rd with a lovely dinner, candles, a comedy movie and a sparkling wine at home. Best Monday night I ever had!
