I really enjoyed living in Brisbane, the first real city I remember living in. I lived in a student sharehouse with 5 other people, including my travel friend Line from Norway. We got along well and we had a lot of fun partying and traveling together.
During my stay in Australia I traveled a lot and my first trip went to Stradbroke Island and it was during my first week in Australia. It was a trip for 100 international students in order to make friends and to get to know Australian culture. It was adventurous and I saw a Kangoroo for the first time in my life. The aboriginals danced for us, told thier story and played didgeridoo for us. It was amazing and educational and I'll never forget it. On this trip I also learned how to surf and how to handle a kayak and I got to know other international students and the weekend was absolutly perfect.
My second trip was to Melbourne with the people I lived with. Landing in Melbourne the first thing I noticed was the fresh air with lower humitidy than Brisbane. It was also colder and we were unlucky with the weather, so it was a good thing I brought my jacket. We only had one week in Melbourne and we had a lot to see. The first thing we did was looking around the city, jumping on and off a free tourbus. We visited museums, Carlton Gardens and many clothing shops. When the night came we visited Eureka Tower to see the beautiful view of the city lights 297 meters (975 ft) above the city. We also went on a day trip to see the Twelve Apostles, a rain forrest, koalas, and kangaroos. It was a lot of fun, but I didn't really get to see the night life, so I will definitly come back to explore the City further.
My third travel went to Airlie Beach where we were as unlucky with the weather as we were in Melbourne. The main reason for this destination was Whitehaven Beach and Great Barrier Reef, which we didn't see because of the weather. But I still enjoyed my stay in Airlie Beach and we went sailing for three days, and I went snorkeling for the first time in my life, and enjoyed a small town in Australia.
