The first travel to Australia

In my first post i mentioned that i studied at QUT, Australia. I want to tell you more about this trip to australia, which is my first trip so far away from my family and friends.

When I chose my degree at UIA I knew that I wanted to study one semester outside of Norway, back then I had no idea that would be Australia. When the list of unis came, we could choose unis in Europe, America, South Africa and Australia. Many of the students wanted to travel, and my friend Line and I desided to travel together to Australia.

We were super excited to get in to QUT and after geting a Student Visa, plane tickets and health insurance we could start our adventure. My adventure startet in the middle of the night 5th ov July 2010, where I took a trane to the airport in Oslo. I had to wait for Line for 8 hours in the airport and 2 hours after she came our plane left to Brussels. We waited for a while in Brussels before flying with ethiad for 14 hours to Abu Dhabi. It was the longest plight I've ever had but it was surprisingly good. Ethiad is a great airline with entertainment stations at every seat and it was the most confortable flight I've had. In Abu Dhabi we changed planes going to Sydney. Arriving there we felt relieved, we were finally in Australia, but we stil had another 1, 1/2 hours to go as our destination was Brisbane. After over 45 hour travel we were exhausted andafter booking in to Some Where To Stay we slept for 17 hours! At the hostel we shared a room with 6 other people, as you can see on the photo to the right.

Waking up it took me a while to realise that I was in Brisbane, Australia! It was the biggest city I had ever been in, and it was exciting to explore the city on the first day. My first impression of the city was great, with all the lights at night and all the tall buildings. And I couldn't believe how worm it was in their winter. I came from a Norwegian summer to an Australian winter and it was the same! I could definitly say that i would love living there.
